MAIN TRAILER:
RECREATED TRAILER:
CREDITS:
CAMERA - BETH LOCKE
ACTORS/ACTRESSES - ELISE OGDEN, ALEX BURNS, OLIVIA WORTHINGTON
EDITING - OLIVIA WORTHINGTON
AUDIO - NICOLE GANDY
Similarities:
- The main shot types of the people were easily recreated as no special effects were required.
- The Production Company Credits were made again using Adobe Photoshop. This was then edited in along with a zoom.
- The editing transitions such as the crossfades were able to be recreated.
- Some of the improvised shots had been given special cinematic effects (such as the Night time effect at 1:35)
- We used the Adobe Creative Suite to edit this movie which is what Gareth Edwards used to create the majority of his films.
Differences:
- Due to the high tech special effects created by Gareth Edwards, we were unable to recreate some of the scenes. This includes the main Godzilla shots as well as the ocean scene. Instead, we decided to improvise on some of the editing so the trailer was not incomplete.
Conclusion/What we have learnt:
- If we were to create a film trailer again, I would use a more simpler genre such as Social Realist or a simple horror. This is so we are able to create easier special effects and more shots.
- The location of where we shot most of the trailer could have been better. For example, the ocean scene could have been filmed somewhere near water or at a beach.
- When it comes to the audio, we would need to record the voices using the same mic. The voices sounded uneven and some were echoed, therefore all voices should be recorded on a professional microphone.
- We would need to study each shot carefully; looking at the location, effect ( day or night ), editing and more. This is so we are able to recreate a more professional trailer as we would know what editing we would need beforehand.
- If some clips are not practical to film, it is good to either improvise the scenes or create it as close to the original as possible. By not leaving blanks in the clip, it makes the trailer more similar to the original.
